ABOUT SHASTA CARMICHAEL
My name is Shasta Carmichael

PERSONAL JOURNEY
My name is Shasta Carmichael, and I’m running to be your next Commissioner of the Revenue right here in the City of Martinsville. This isn’t just a campaign for me — it’s personal. I moved here in 1991 with my grandmother and graduated from Martinsville High School — a proud Bulldog. Over the years, I’ve lived what so many of you live: working hard, trying to make ends meet, and just doing the best you can with what you have.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
I bring over 30 years of customer service experience, along with more than 20 years in finance, collections, and administration. I’ve worked in banking, served in debt collections, and today I proudly serve our city. I’ve also owned my own graphic design business and earned degrees in Computer Science and Audio Production. My journey shows that I’m not one-dimensional — and neither are the people of Martinsville. I understand hard work, creativity, and service because I’ve lived it, and that’s exactly what I’ll bring to this office.

Building a Better Martinsville
MY MISSION
If given the opportunity to serve, I’ll focus on making things easier, clearer, and fairer for everyone. That means making payments and paperwork less complicated, creating a welcoming office culture where people get help instead of being turned away, and communicating in ways that everyone can understand. Most of all, it means treating every person with fairness and respect while they handle their business with the city.
